Autumn 2014: Cross-Sector Collaboration

How can the public and private sectors collaborate to solve important public policy challenges?

For the first time, the Policy Ignite! was open to members of the private sector, academia, and civil society. The Autumn 2014 event was about creating opportunities for collaboration between the public and private sectors; as a result, we encouraged anyone involved in public policy to attend.
From public-private partnerships for infrastructure development to social finance to a growing interest in private-sector service delivery, there are many opportunities for collaboration between government, the private sector, academia and civil society. The Autumn 2014 Policy Ignite! focused on identifying these opportunities to confront Canada’s pressing policy challenges.
Presentations answered three questions:

  1. How would cross-sector collaboration improve outcomes in your chosen policy issue?
  2. What solutions or approaches would new collaborators bring to the issue?
  3. How would collaboration be structured to address your policy challenge?
